Terms of Service

Welcome to MathematiX. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MathematiX website, web application, and mobile companion (together, the "Service"), operated by the MathematiX team ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Your account

You must provide a valid email address and choose a unique username. One account per email address.
You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account.
Usernames must not impersonate others, contain offensive language, or use reserved terms. We may reclaim or rename usernames that violate this.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use the Service.

2. Your content

Your notes, sketches, equations, and files are yours. We claim no ownership of the content you create. You grant us only the limited rights needed to store, sync, display, and back up your content so the Service can work — for example, saving your canvas to our database so it appears on your other devices.

Plain English: we store your notes so you can get to them anywhere. We don't sell them, mine them for ads, or train models on them without your explicit opt-in.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, distribute malware, spam, harass, or attempt to breach or overload our systems (including probing other users' data). We may suspend accounts that do.

4. Lemma AI

Lemma AI generates explanations and suggestions automatically. It can be wrong. Verify important work — especially anything graded, published, or safety-critical. You're responsible for how you use AI output, including compliance with your institution's academic-integrity policies.

5. Beta status & availability

MathematiX is in beta. Features may change, break, or be removed, and the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep your data safe (local backups plus cloud sync), but you should export anything irreplaceable. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (during the free beta: $0).

6. Plans & billing

The beta is free. If we introduce paid plans, pricing will be shown clearly before you're charged, and these Terms will be updated with billing provisions ahead of time.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time, which removes your profile and synced content from our systems (backups purge within 30 days). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practical.

8. Changes to these Terms

If we make material changes we'll notify you by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
